2017 England Athletics Under17 Championships – Stand-out performances included a UK record in the U17 Women’s Triple Jump from Eloise Harvey, the Southern silver medallist.  Eloise entered the competition with a best of 11.54m, improved that to 11.80m for an early lead, and then jumped 12.02m in the third round for a UK record.

It was a superb competition in which she bettered her previous best in five of the six rounds.

2014 World Junior Championships – In the men’s decathlon, at the halfway stage, David Hall was lying in 11th place with 4016 points. He made the perfect start as he smashed his personal best in the 100m with a time of 10.89 before following it up with a best long jump of 6.66m. In the final event of the morning, the shot put, he set a best mark of 12.69m to leave himself in 23rd place after three events. In the afternoon he set a season’s best in the high jump with a clearance of 1.97m before running a big personal best of 47.85 in the 400m to climb into 11th place overall going into the second day.
The second day of competition, David recorded 3 more personal bests in the 110m hurdles – 14.98, Pole Vault – 4.10m, and in the 1500m – 4:35.82. David also threw well in both the discus and javelin, recording throws of 35.77m and 53.53m respectively. Overall, Dave finished with a new personal best decathlon score of 7440 points, moving him up to 3rd in the UK All-Time rankings!!
Overall in the World Junior Championships taking place in Oregan, USA, David finished 13th in a field of 34. Massive congratulations to Dave from everybody at the club, we are all very proud.

2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games – Grace is in incredibly grateful for everyone’s support and Dartford Harriers are so proud of her achievements in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Grace finished the 2 days in 7th position with 5512 points
“It has been an honour and privilege to finish my heptathlon career at the Commonwealth Games. Not the performance I was hoping for but definitely a competition to remember and it has been a joy to be able to represent my country for the last nine years. What an emotional ending! Well done to Jess Tappin who came to Glasgow with very little notice and performed brilliantly, and Jess Taylor who has risen to the occasion fantastically. Onwards and upwards to the next challenge”

2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games – Louise Hazel trailed Zalinka and Peaches Roach of Jamaica after four events but jumped a personal best of 6.44m in the long jump to take the lead by 74 points with two events remaining. The Birchfield Harrier then put in another superb performance in the javelin with a new lifetime best of 44.42 to stretch her lead over Zelinka to 126 points while Clements moved above Roach into bronze. It meant Hazel held an advantage of about nine seconds over the top-ranked Canadian going into the 800m and although it is one of Zelinka’s strongest disciplines, Hazel kept her within her sights to secure gold in a new personal best of 6156 points. Clements stayed ahead of Roach to ensure her medal, posting a personal best of 5819 points.

Grace finished the 2 days in 3rd position with 5819 points, which was a PB!
