~ Track & Field ~
Southern Athletics League – Having only joined this league in 2013, we were promoted as Champions from Division 3 into Division 2 North for the 2014 Season. We continued our winning streak, coming top for the first 3 matches. The next 2 were tough competitions against the other clubs fighting for promotion, meaning the Hoops finished a respectable 3rd, seeing Tonbridge & Crawley promoted.
Southern Counties Veterans League – Part of the Kent Division 1, there are 6 league matches each year, where the winning Club goes through to the final in September. AFter all 7 fixtures, the men finished 2nd (out of 6), and the women 3rd (out of 5). Commiserations to the women for narrowly missing out, but huge congratulations to the men for making the final at Ashford on 7th September.
Kent Young Athletes League – This year, newly promoted to Division 1, we have formed a composite team with Swanley & District AC, who were also new to the league. After all 4 fixtures, the girls finished 6th (out of 7) & boys 4th (out of 6).
Youth Development League – This competition will take over from the National Junior Athletics League from September 2012. There are 2 competitions for Upper and Lower age groups. For the Upper League we are in the South Division 2a. For the Lower League it’s South Division 3b. Both teams finished 6th (out of 7).
Club Open Meetings – There will only be 2 Dartford Harriers Open Meetings this year due to the track refurbishment. But other clubs, as always, host their own meetings throughout the year.
Club Championships – The Club Championships are held in September every year. All Dartford Harriers members are eligible to enter for as many events as they want to. This is a great time to go for that final PB, or just have a go at something different, either way it’s a fun day out for all the family to support. Please note, we were unable to hold the club championships this year due to the track refurbishment plans.
County Championships – This is organised by Kent County Athletics Association.
