The Dartford Half Marathon Sunday 20th July 2008

The Dartford Half Marathon is run each July in conjunction with the Dartford Festival. The first Dartford Half Marathon was run in 1977 and was won by Steve Ovett (pictured right), who went on to win the Olympic Gold medal over 800 metres at the 1980 Moscow Olympics

The race is held over a challenging undulating course starting at the Dartford track then heading out onto the roads before threading through the picturesque lanes of south Darenth and eventually heading back towards Dartford. Most runners throughly enjoy the last three miles which are predominantly downhill.
