Many thanks to all the runners who endured the heat and the testing half marathon course (with the extra hill!). We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks also to all of the marshals, scouts, guides and cadets, drinks station attendants, first aiders, officials and countless others who make it all happen on the day.

Now in its 34th year, the Dartford Half Marathon has been held every July since 1977 when it was won by Steve Ovett, who went on to win the Olympic Gold medal over 800 metres at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The race is held over a challenging undulating course starting at the Central Park Athletics track then heading out onto the roads, threading through the picturesque lanes around South Darenth before returning through Dartford to finish on the track in Central Park.

There are a number of changes in place this year...

We have moved the event to a different weekend to the Dartford Festival. This is in order to reduce congestion, and to enable us to use the paths of Central Park as part of a new race route.
We will be using electronic chip timing.
We have designed a new route which avoids crossing major roads and minimises the time spent running in built up areas. We hope that this will lead to a more pleasant racing environment and improve safety for competitors and marshals.

Entry fees: Affilliated: £17.00; unaffliated: £19.00; on-the-day: £22:00

Entry limit: 1200. If limit is not reached, on-the-day entries will be taken no later than 8:00am.

Awards & Prizes: Senior Men & Senior Women: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place.
MV40, MV50, MV60, FV35, FV45, FV55 : 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place.
Male Team (3 to score) & Female team (3 to score) : 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place.
All finishers receive a momento.

Closing date: Wednesday 7th July 2010, for receipt of postal entries.

Race Numbers and race information will be mailed to all competitors approximately four weeks before the event.

Eligibility: Participants must be 17 years and over on the race day. We regret that this race is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.

Facilities: Changing rooms; Toilets; Showers; Baggage store; Sports massage; Refreshments; Race Photography; Chip timing.

Fun Run: starting at 09:15 am. Entries taken on the day only (£3.00). 4 laps of the track. All proceeds from the Fun Run go to our official charity, Cancer research UK. There is no age limit for the Fun Run.
